About the event
The Community Festivals
The Community Festivals were founded by the three founding members of the Community Movement, Karl-Heinz Meyer, Sabine Ainjali Meyer, and Joachim Detjen, and have taken place once or twice a year since 1997.
Community festivals are a place where diverse people come together temporarily to form a "tribe" and quickly grow into a functioning community. We've found that a community festival is like a positive "mill" through which visitors walk and return home feeling inspired, nourished, fulfilled, and happy. This state of mind continues for weeks or months after the festival, and people thus carry their impressions and their fulfillment into their surroundings and the world.
